Hello cookies,

I have a confession. I'm not big on KFC's original recipe but their wicked wings, damn. Love it! But today I decided to give the new Zinger Black Burger a try. I know it looks a little off-putting but I wanted to give it a go and see whether it was worth the hype.

Firstly, can I say I do like the box. I'm pretty most of what I paid went towards the packaging. It kinda made it have a luxe feel to it. Now for the burger itself it cost I think $7.95 but I opted for the Zinger Black Boxed meal which comes with the burger, 3 wicked wings, reg. chips & soft drink and potato & gravy. At $11.95, it's value for money.

Looking at the burger, the bun looks fluffy (not sure if that's the right word), the sauce dripping was definitely appealing and I appreciate the way my bun looked. It actually KINDA looked like the picture. Love was definitely put into making my burger. The burger consists of KFC's Zinger fillet, maple mustard sauce, crispy smoked bacon, tomato, lettuce, cheese and of course the bun sprinkled with sesame seeds, chilli flakes and nigella seeds. As for the taste I have mixed feelings. Upon my first bite I get this odd sweet taste and not just from the sauce but I solder on. I think it's from the bun. As I make my way through the burger I start enjoying it. The filling is great probably whatever they have in a standard Zinger burger (I never have burgers at KFC). Most definitely the bread then that had an odd flavour.

Overall the burger for me was all hype. I would have rather just bought a standard Zinger burger. Aside from getting a great photo for instagram feed that is all the positive I see in the Zinger Black Burger.

Hot or Not?

30° - the bun has an odd taste which was not to my liking.

JASMINE'S
COOKING TIPS

#1

Look around, chances are the product are produced by many different brands. Expensive doesn't necessarily mean better.

#2

Research, research, research. Some products have different effects on people but it still helps getting background knowledge. Ask people you know and trust, they might have different skin tone/types but on products where that doesn't matter it helps to have an honest opinion/

#3

Try before you buy. Most places let you try something before you buy it. Or ask them to put it on you. You don't want to spend $100 on a product only to find it doesn't match your skintone.

#4

Know their return/exchange policies in the chance that you do get the wrong colour or the product isn't right for you cause it's just making you break out. You don't want to end up with $100 just sitting on your shelf wasting away.
