Hello cookies,

Sorry for the lack of posts, I've just had a lot of things going on in my personal life and I've only recently just had time to write one up. AnywaysI've had request from some of my mates to do reviews on my everyday makeup routine products and one of my personal favourites is the Too Faced Candlelight Glow. At a lavish price of $47 I was expecting A LOT from this product. Originally I was after NARS Albatross but it just wasn't producing light and shine I wanted from a highlighter. And so the assistant from Mecca (yes, I know, I love that place!) helped me out and suggested the Too Faced Candlelight Glow and she put it on for me and wow, did I shine - which is actually what I wanted.

Too Faced Candlelight Glow

The highlighter comes with two shades a white and pink one in layman terms. Basically you get one warmish tone (left side) and a cooler tone (right side) I find using a combination of both works best for me, it kinda balances it out and gives me the shine I want. There is also a lot of colour payoff as it is pigmented (if that is even the right word). There's no obvious scent. In terms of the highlighting effects, I love how it makes me Glow as the product name suggests. Unlike other highlighters you don' t get like specks of glitter on your face and glitter like a disco ball.

My main issue with this product is the size of the packaging. Don't get me wrong it's a sturdy piece of makeup but it does get quite bulky in my makeup bag which I always leave in my handbag. At the same time the bulkyness makes it less fragile so even if you drop it, it doesn't open and fall out or crack or whatever else happens. This is just a personal preference though so if you did want this product check it out in store and see if you do like how it looks.

Too keep this short, I absolutely love this product and it is always in my everyday makeup bag. It also doubles up as my mirror as it comes with a decent size mirror. I'm so glad the sales assistant suggested this to me because it is an everyday staple for me. Considering I was already ready to fork out money for NARS albatross I personally thought it was value for money.

Hot or Not?

85° - I love this and would happily repurchase it again!

JASMINE'S
COOKING TIPS

#1

Look around, chances are the product are produced by many different brands. Expensive doesn't necessarily mean better.

#2

Research, research, research. Some products have different effects on people but it still helps getting background knowledge. Ask people you know and trust, they might have different skin tone/types but on products where that doesn't matter it helps to have an honest opinion/

#3

Try before you buy. Most places let you try something before you buy it. Or ask them to put it on you. You don't want to spend $100 on a product only to find it doesn't match your skintone.

#4

Know their return/exchange policies in the chance that you do get the wrong colour or the product isn't right for you cause it's just making you break out. You don't want to end up with $100 just sitting on your shelf wasting away.
